Restarting your Macbook is an easy, but oft-overlooked maintenance item.  


Restarting frequently can reduce issues with general laptop operation and also ensures the battery remains healthy and system updates are properly installed.


To restart your Macbook, do the following...


Go to the  Menu and select Restart...





Sometimes, you may not be able to restart your Macbook properly and will need to force a restart.  


To do so, push and hold the power button on your Mac until it shuts off. After a moment, press the power button again to start your Mac. 


You may lose unsaved changes in open documents.
