Tip #1: Really, really, really, properly restart your laptop the night before testing.

Here's how!!!  Click the  and then select Restart...  (That's it!)

Restarting takes less than a minute and can prevent a lot of problems and undue stress on test day.





Tip # 2: Try opening the Bluebook application.  This allows you time to resolve any issues.   

Bluebook should already be installed on your Macbook. You can launch it from your Applications folder or by doing a Spotlight search for Bluebook.  

When you launch Bluebook, if everything is OK, you should be presented with a screen similar to the following...




Once Bluebook loads, click the Test Your Device button. This runs several short checks to verify your laptop is ready for testing.






If you see an "Update Bluebook Now" screen...





  • Don't click the "Update Now" button.  It won't work.  Users do not have permissions to install or update applications on school laptops.
  • Restart your laptop.  
  • After restarting, go to Self Service and install Maintenance - Repair Bluebook Updates may not happen immediately after restarting and repairing - please be patient.

  • If Bluebook still does not open correctly after restarting and waiting a bit, stop by your tech room for assistance. 


 

Do not wait until test day to do this!  



Tip# 3: Be sure to fully-charge your laptop prior to the PSAT/SAT. Loaner chargers are not available during the test.
